Backup Codes

1. When to use backup codes

Use a backup code if you lose access to your authenticator app or phone. Each code can only be used once.

2. Where to store them

Store backup codes in a password manager, write them down and keep them in a safe place, or save the downloaded text file securely.

3. When to regenerate

Regenerate codes if you've used most of them, suspect they've been compromised, or want to refresh them for security.
